The Skinny on THIEVES!

Thieves is an essential oil blend that was inspired by the legend of 4 thieves who formulated a combination of powerful botanicals that they used while stealing from the dead and dying during the plague in 15th century Europe. Basically, the legend says that the police offered these robbers a plea deal in exchange for their botanical recipe. (cool story, no?)
Young Living’s one-of-a-kind Thieves blend, crafted in the spirit of that legendary combination, is a carefully balanced blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary essential oils. This powerful formula may help support healthy immune function and contribute to overall wellness when taken as a dietary supplement.
Tested for its cleansing abilities, Thieves is highly effective in supporting the immune system & good health, as well as providing the power to care for your home without synthetics or toxic chemical cleaning products.

The Thieves Essential Oil Blend:
  • Supports healthy immune function and overall wellness.
  • Helps purify the air in your home when diffused.
  • Compliments daily wellness regimes.
  • Helps maintain a healthy respiratory system.
  • Key component for the entire Thieves line of products by Young Living including home cleaning and personal care products, ranging from dish soap to toothpaste.

It’s pretty crazy to think about that one little bottle of plant juice making such a HUGE impact!

Well, now that you know what it is…
let’s talk about what you can do with it.

HOW DO YOU USE IT?

⇢Aromatically⇠

The easiest way to use Thieves blend in your home to help boost immunity is to put a few drops in your diffuser. You can diffuse it alone or pair it with a favorite oil or two. Diffusing helps to kill bacteria you are breathing in the air and help strengthen your immune system.

One of my favorite diffuser blends is 3 Drops Thieves, 3 Drops Bergamot (or Citrus Fresh) and 3 Drops Peppermint. I use this one every morning in the kitchen right next to my kids when they’re having breakfast. This blend provides immunity support (thieves), mood uplifting support (bergamot) and respiratory support (peppermint) and helps get my family’s day started off right.

During the holidays I fell in love with 3 Drops Thieves, 3 Drops Cinnamon Bark, it is a cozy, comforting aroma on a cold winter day!

If I hear just one cough at home, I am cranking up my favorite IMMUNITY BOOSTING BLEND: 4 drops Thieves, 4 Drops Lemon, 4 Drops Oregano, 4 Drops Frankincense!

Diffusing Thieves in some form regularly helps to be proactive during the winter months and flu season. In past years that my kids have gotten sick, I had not been using Thieves regularly at home and I try to diffuse it every single day here now.

⇢Topically⇠
You can also use Thieves topically.
Young Living makes a special Thieves Roll-On which is prediluted for easy and convenient topical application. We apply this one generously on wrists, back of neck, shoulders, down our spine & on the bottom of our feet.
(That sounds crazy extreme but remind me to tell you about the weekend that Evan had strep and Olivia had a stomach virus and I was the rolling, diffusing maniac who survived it)
You can also add 5-8 drops of Thieves and a cup of Epsom Salt to your bath for an amazing immunity boosting soak!

⇢Internally⇠

My absolute FAVORITE way to use thieves is in a homemade "thieves tea" this is a mug of hot water + spoonful of local, organic honey + 1 drop lemon vitality oil + 1 drop thieves vitality oil. It is the most soothing and health boosting thing ever. I know some teacher friends who drink this tea every morning at school!
If I feel a little tickle in my throat (why do they call it a tickle, it’s not funny), I use a small spoonful of local, organic honey with a drop of Thieves Vitality (and a drop of Lemon Vitality too if it’s handy)…it’s like a liquid cough drop, and my throat feels better immediately!
I could just go on & an on about this amazing little bottle of oil!
I swear by Thieves all year long!
Have you used thieves oil for immunity before?
